On Friday 23rd April, Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes MP, made a socially distanced visit to meet the team at family-owned and operated business Minera Roof Trusses which has been supplying roof trusses and metal web joists across the UK for over 40 years.
The manufacturing plant, which is located in the Five Crosses Industrial Estate in Minera, has grown to accommodate an extending range of services, including roof trusses, joists, ancillary products and roof windows since opening in 1977. During this time, they have also designed, fabricated and transported well over a million trusses to all parts of the UK.
In 1985, Minera Roof Trusses was also the first company in the industry to offer a “just in time” delivery, which has become established as the UK’s only 5-day delivery from receipt of order confirmation nationwide. As one of the first roof truss fabricators to establish an engineering design department at the truss plant, tight quality control methods were introduced over 15 years ago and this has enabled Minera to undertake complex roof projects working with architects and engineers on various schemes.
During the visit, Mr Baynes met with Marc Jones (Managing Director), Eric Meacock (Operations Director) and Ian Griffiths (Production Director) and other members staff during his tour of the factory.
Marc Jones, Managing Director, said:
“We are extremely proud of the service we provide. We are a family business employing local people but we punch well above our weight, having the fastest nationwide delivery service for roof trusses and joists covering every corner of the UK. It is a testament to our dedicated team that we have managed to navigate such a difficult time and maintain our reputation for quality. We’d like to thank Simon for his support in coming to visit us and also extend our appreciation to all of our customers both in Wrexham and beyond who have worked with us throughout.”
Simon Baynes MP said:
“It was a great pleasure to meet the hardworking team at Minera Roof Trusses who, as a family-owned and operated business, do exceptional working in flying the flag for Minera, Clwyd South and North Wales as a whole. They’re a real success story and I was very impressed to hear about their major contributions to the rest of the industry. In my role as the Conservatives’ Small Business Ambassador for Wales, I wish them every success for the future and I’m sure they will continue to go from strength to strength.”
