Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes MP, has praised Denbighshire County Council for adopting its new ambitious climate strategy to help tackle pressing concerns over climate change.
The strategy includes targets to reduce the Council’s carbon emissions from a range of sources, including a 50% reduction from the energy and water used in Council owned buildings, as well as targets to increase the amount of carbon absorbed by the land the Council owns at the same time as creating more diverse habitats for plants and wildlife.
Simon Baynes MP said:
“I’m really pleased that Denbighshire County Councillors have endorsed such an important plan to help ensure that the County plays its role in helping to reduce carbon emissions.
“Being ambitious and setting a carbon neutral target by 2030 will be welcomed by Clwyd South residents, especially by future generations in years to come and will hopefully contribute to a greener, cleaner environment locally.”
