Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes MP, has shown his support for Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham by encouraging people to join the Hospice lottery, in order to provide additional funds for the organisation.
The Nightingale House Lottery costs £1 per week. To find out more information, please visit https://www.nightingalehouse.co.uk/lottery/ or phone 01978 316800.
The Hospice provides vital care, support and advice for patients suffering with illnesses such as cancer, chronic diseases and also heart failure. The Hospice also operates a 24-hour helpline, 7 days a week, to offer support to patients and families.
Mr Baynes paid tribute to the Hospice and its staff for all their hard work, particularly during the pandemic. He also acknowledged the difficulties in fundraising over the last few months due to Coronavirus.
Whilst the Hospice was allocated a share of Welsh Government money, the Hospice hasn’t received it all and it is also uncertain what additional funding Welsh Hospices are likely to receive.
The lottery has already provided substantial funds and, in 2019, 16,000 people helped raise £535,000 by playing the lottery, which assisted in running the Hospice which costs £3.4 million a year to run.
Simon Baynes MP said:
“Nightingale House Hospice is an incredible organisation that I know supports many residents and their families in Clwyd South. I’d encourage residents to do what they can to support the Hospice in these difficult times, particularly by joining the Hospice lottery as I have done.
“We have all seen and heard about the incredible work of our NHS and social care workers during this crisis. And that’s why I’m appealing to people so that the Hospice can carry on their exceptional work.
