On Friday 18th December, Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes MP, made a socially-distanced visit to St Collen’s Church in Llangollen to meet with Fr Lee Taylor and learn more about the proposed re-ordering of the church.
Due to the church being conveniently located in Llangollen and with accessible parking availability, it is envisaged that with the proposed re-ordering, the congregation and the wider community in Llangollen could benefit from a number of new improved uses for the church.
Fr Lee Taylor said:
“Throughout their history, church buildings have evolved and adapted to meet the spiritual and social needs of the time, and it is because of this adaptability that many of our church buildings have continued to be in use. The time has come for St Collen’s to change and adapt its building so that we can better serve our community, our regular worshippers and visitors in new and exciting ways.”
Simon Baynes MP said:
“It was a pleasure to meet with Fr Lee, who has some wonderful ideas for how to improve the facilities at St Collen’s Church so that both the congregation and the wider community can benefit from its exceptionally beautiful, historical setting. I fully support these plans and look forward to seeing how they progress over the months ahead.”
