On Saturday 12th December, Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes MP made a socially-distanced visit to the Spar in Rhosllanerchrugog, where local children were given the opportunity to post a letter to Father Christmas.

Along with Graham Thomas, who dressed as a Minion from the Despicable Me franchise, Cllr Kevin Hughes, Charlotte Richards (Spar Assistant Manager) and Rochelle Jones (Spar Supervisor).
Children who posted a letter and included a stamped, addressed envelope will receive a letter back from the North Pole.
Ponciau Ward Councillor, Paul Pemberton, said:
“Santa’s Post Box was a huge success with local children and families. Our event had excellent turnout from the local community. And I want to take the opportunity say a big thank you to Spar for hosting us as well. It was a really special event.”
Simon Baynes MP said:
“I was really glad to come along and see this heart-warming initiative. It was a lovely way to bring a smile to children and families’ faces after what has been an especially difficult year. I want to pay special tribute to County Cllr Paul Pemberton, Rhos Community Council and all the local volunteers involved in bringing this together and who did a wonderful job.”
