On Sunday 19th December 2021, Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes, attended the outdoor Christmas Carol Service at the Ponciau Bandstand, led by Pastor Joshua Roberts of the Grace Baptist Church of Rhosllanerchrugog. There were carols and Bible readings in both Welsh and English, along with live musical performances.
Mr Baynes praised the event and thanked those involved for the uplifting service.
Simon Baynes MP said:
“I was delighted to attend the outdoor Christmas Carol Service in Rhos. It was extremely uplifting to hear Welsh and English carols and readings and to enjoy the Christmas service. The weather was misty to start with, but the sun came out during the course of the service.
“I would like to express my thanks to Pastor Josh Roberts of the Grace Baptist Church, and his wife Rachel, and their children, William, Emma, Jackson and Anne, as well as their friend, Darcey, who provided support and musical accompaniment. It was very kind of the Baptist Church to give everyone a plate of homemade cookies at the end of the service. Thanks also to County Cllr Paul Pemberton, Rhos Community Council, and the wider community for their support for this wonderful and uplifting event. I would like to wish everybody involved a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
